Hello my dear friends and fans!

It’s been a long time since I’ve inhabited your inbox. Sorry about that. At least I can never be accused of spam! Since last we spoke, I’ve had a beautiful baby boy who has now grown into a toddler. Its been quite the adventure to say the least. Since I left my day job to pursue music and motherhood full time, it’s time to start shaking off the musical cobwebs and get this train rolling again!

Announcement 1: on February 11 at the World Cafe Live at the Queen I will be performing in the finals of their Unsung Hearos open mic competition. The winner gets studio time, a show at The Queen, and a promotional package. All things that could really help an indie rock chick like myself. It is SUPER helpful to have as many people in the audience cheering for me as possible. The show is free, but if you want a table reservations are highly recommended.

Announcement 2: I HAVE A BAND!! Finally, I can play shows with a full band. This is super exciting. The lovely gentlemen of Venice Sunlight have been wonderful to offer their backing services for me up to now but it’s really time to get my own band. It features one of my favorite collaborators, Boy Wonder, on lead guitar, Mike Ellisio of 9th Life and Epoch Failure on drums, and Josh Zenker, formerly of Angie Monroe’s band, on bass. Our first show in March 6, upstairs at The Legendary Dobbs in Philadelphia. Come out! It will be amazing.

Announcement 3: I have a new job! The first Sunday of every month I will be hosting an all ages open mic at 2nd State Lounge. Starting this Sunday, February 1, come for sign ups at 3, music from 4-7. They’ve got TVs, you can watch the game AND eat wings n waffles.

And finally New Yorkers, I haven’t forgotten you! April 15th, Fontana’s (105 Eldridge St Manhattan)8pm. I’m playing an acoustic duo show with Boy Wonder. $10 cover, 21+.

Fans outside of the local area, what can I do for you? Drop me an email, let’s chat. :-)

Much love to you all. Here’s to a great 2015!

Love,
Rachel
